Feeling stuck? Here is how you can move on
We all feel stuck at some point in our lives. You are probably feeling stuck on a project you started or in life generally.
It is so normal. Everyone gets to that point at one point in their lives. We are no superhumans you know.
Honestly, it’s a terrible feeling. You had probably started whatever you are doing with so much energy and excitement and now you are not sure what to do.
The one anyone could do in such a situation is to give up. There is always a way out.
Here are a few ways you can keep moving on when you find yourself in such a situation.
1. Take a step back
The largest mistake we do is trying to force ourselves to move forward.
Taking a step backward, analyzing the situation and getting to know what the problem is. is very important.
2. Be specific
Moving forward will be difficult until you get to understand why you are stuck.
It’s always good to remember that a well-defined problem presents its situation.
For you to get a solution, you must get to understand what the problem is first.
When you dig deep into what the problem is, the solution tends to present itself automatically.
3. Reconnect to your “why”
You are stuck probably because you have lost connection with the “why” you are doing whatever you are doing.
Ask yourself questions such as why you started whatever you are doing, why are you doing it and what you want to achieve at the end.
These questions could direct you into getting to identify the reason why you are stuck. Once you understand why then you can easily come up with how to move ahead.
4. Give your brain a break
You are probably under too much pressure and a break could serve you right.
A fresh mind and a new perspective could just work wonders.
5. Let go of what is not working.
Sometimes we get stuck because whatever we are doing is just not working.
Why should you dwell so much on something that is clearly not working? The best option is usually to let go.
Look for what works for you best and shift the energy to that.
6. Shift your state
When you’re in a stuck state, it actually creates a cycle of ‘stuckness.’ Get yourself out of there.
Instead of placing all your focus and energy on the problem, shift your focus and energy to another area of your life. Go do something that brings you joy; spend time with someone you love.
A state shift brings energy, hope, and positivity into your mindset…keys to getting out of that dreaded stuck cycle.
7. Take Action
Simon Sinek said, ‘If we think of everything we have to do, we feel overwhelmed. If we do the one thing we need to do, we make progress.’
Once you take action, you are able to gain momentum and are able to move forward. You are also able to take bigger and more challenging steps than before.
