Kihumbuini village of Gatanga Sub-county in Murang’a County’s residents found the nearly dead body of an 81-year-old lady by the name Lydia Wanjiku about 500m from her home. She was found in a coffee farm in deep pain and also bleeding.
Lydia Wanjiku was apparently raped and beaten up by her attackers for what the locals say was as a result of land scuffles. She was found with a stick stuck in her private parts which they used after raping her, leaving her bleeding profusely.
According to Mr Ng’ang’a the woman said she had forgiven her assailants.
“She was in deep pain but she forced herself to speak where she said she had forgiven her attackers and that she did not want to carry the grudge to heaven. We told her that she would recover but on Tuesday morning we received reports that she had died,” Mr Ng’ang’a said.
