The Kenya Metrological department has asked Kenyans to prepare for strong winds likely to cause massive destructions in their homes and the surrounding environment.
According to MET, the winds are expected to be so strong that they will blow off roofs and uproot trees.
These winds will not only be winds, but they will also be accompanied by large waves.
The winds will be moving at a speed of 30 knots (15.4 metres/second) on Thursday and strengthen to 40 knots (20.56 m/s) on Friday, July 17. They are expected to strike on Thursday, July 16, and persist for two more days.

“Strong winds may blow off roofs, uproot trees and cause structural damages. Very high waves may lower visibility, cause capsizing of boats and threaten the safety of those engaged in water sports and recreational activities. Those in the areas of concern should be on high alert,” warned the met department.
