Former Starehe Bishop Margret Wanjiru was on Thursday evening admitted to hospital over Coronavirus fears. After being confirmed positive with the virus the former politician was admitted in an Intensive Care Unit(ICU).
Sources said that the former MP and founder of the Jesus Is Alive Ministries had allegedly hosted 18 people at her house before she fell ill.
It is not clear why the gathering happened but the Star has confirmed that eight of those 18 people have also tested positive.
The government, in its directives, has forbidden the gathering of more than 15 people in a bid to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
Confirming the sad news, Starehe MP Jaguar took it to social media to wish Bishop Margret all the best as she battles the virus.
Today, I join the people of Starehe in wishing Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, our former MP, a quick and full recovery. Let us also remember all the other Covid-19 patients in Starehe, Kenya, and beyond. You are in our thoughts. God will grant us victory over this invisible enemy. pic.twitter.com/SYoDh5SIDr
