Dj Evolve Seeks To Withdraw Murder Case Against Babu Owino
Felix Orinda alias Dj Evolve has requested the case against Embakasi Member of Parliament Babu Owino be withdrawn.
According to him, the decision was arrived at after much consultation with his family. The family have decided to focus on his health and not the pending murder case in court.
Embakasi MP Babu Owino was charged with attempted murder after he shot the DJ on his neck.
The Dj has written a letter to the court through his lawyers, stating that the case is affecting his healing process.
The DPP has however asked the court to give him sometime to assess the mental health of DJ Evolve.
According to the DPP, the application for more time is premised on grounds that they were interested in preserving the interest of Evolve.
The DPP is also interested in knowing why the family has chosen to take that direction yet the case is a matter of public interest.
Senior principle magistrate Benard Ochoi has granted the DPP more time and asked them to appear in court on 9th November for mention.
In his ruling, magistrate Ochoi said he has seen the letter from Evolve to the DPP seeking to withdraw the charge.
The court noted that Evolve had addressed the court but his voice was not clear because there was a tube inserted through his throat.
The letter to the DPP and court also had a thumb print from Evolve to show that he had signed the letter.
