We’ve been battling the coronavirus here in Kenya for 5 months now. What started as a single case back in March has now transformed into more than 25, 000 cases of the virus.
The pandemic is global and even the most developed countries have not yet come up with the cure for the virus. This means that people across the country have been trying everything possible to help patients manage the disease.
In particular, people have been making a lemon, ginger and honey drink.
The Ministry of Health has sought to clarify to the public that lemon, ginger and honey are good for the human body but that they are not an actual cure for COVID-19.
“Ginger, lemon and honey are good because they are sources of vitamins and micronutrients, but the message to take home today is that there is still no cure for COVID-19,” said Dr. Amoth.
“I will not stop you from taking your ginger honey or lemon as many times as you want but for sure it’s not a treatment for COVID-19.”
So, the drink is good for you and your body, but it is not a covid-19 cure!
