Legendary Bongo singer Diamond Platinumz announced that he was going to do everything in his power to help out venerable families in his country.
In a presser, the singer announced that he was going to pay three months’ rent for 500 families to help out during the struggle with the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Although I am amongst those affected, with the little that God has blessed me with, I have decided to at least offer a helping hand by paying three months house rent to 500 families as my kind gesture of helping one another during these terrible times of fighting COVID-19. I believe I should share your troubles and your happiness too,” he said.

Even though this was for the good of the people, it caused a little trouble for the superstar and his family. Fans flooded his home in Mbezi Beach, Dar Es Salaam, begging to be added to the list of beneficiaries.
The fans also camped at his offices pleaded to be added on the list.
The commotion at both locations was too much that it took police intervention to bring back calm. It took the officers who went heavily armed hours to totally disperse the raging crowds of people.
