Charity Wairimu, a wife and mother, went through one of the most humiliating and dehumanizing things anyone could ever go through in the hands of her husband.
As reported earlier here at 411 Kenya, James Kifo Muriuki was arrested after the DCI learned that he had applied salt and pepper on his wife’s genitals, used a knife to push them in and later on sealed her private parts using super glue.
Apparently, on that fateful day, Muriuki had taken his wife and son for a walk in a neighbouring river where she was questioned about her affairs when the husband was in Nairobi, before coronavirus pandemic. After giving him answers, Kifo must have been mad at her since she got a response that he had hoped would be different.
Charity was rushed to the hospital where she has been receiving treatment. Speaking while at the hospital, she shared that she has some hope that very soon she will be okay.
She recalled that after the incident, she got first aid from a nearby hospital before being taken to a police station to record a statement.
Her doctor explained that Wairimu was responding well to treatment.
“The patient is stable and in fair general condition, conscious and is speaking well. When she got here, we took her to the theatre where we found a few lacerations that we corrected.
“We are hoping to discharge her at the end of the week and we are looking for her to get counselling for the trauma that she underwent,” the specialist noted.
“The referral system was able to take the needy lady from Nyandarua and treat her and we are glad she is getting better,”
