Joho Denies Resigning from ODM
Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has denied claims going round that he has resigned as the ODM deputy party leader.
Through a Facebook post, Joho dismissed the claims and stated that the party is still intact.
The fake circular letter had indicated that Mombasa Governor had requested ODM leadership to give a chance to the youth and encourage divergent voices on the party’s operations and relations.
” I hereby thank you for the opportunity you granted me to serve as a deputy party leader in ODM. I believe during my tenure I served you and the party members diligently, including organizing for campaigns in different parts of the country and catering for expense even as the party was experiencing tough economic times,” read the fake letter.
he letter had been addressed to ODM party leader Raila Odinga and in it, Joho had stated that being the party’s deputy leader had given him a chance to learn.
The ODM party has also dismissed the claims.
“We thrive in truth, fake news is not our thing,” the party tweeted.
Joho is considered as the most influential ODM leader from the coast region. He has been very instrumental in hustling votes for Raila odinga in the past three elections.
There were also rumors that Suba East MP Junet Mohammed had been expelled from the party.
