KEMU student murder
With so much pain, the family of the late KEMU University student who was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend have spoken out. She was murdered and the boyfriend, later on, committed suicide in the same apartment. Neighbours noticed a bad smell coming from the room days later and that’s when the two decomposing bodies were found. Ann Kanario, a 21-year-old fourth-year student was studying Business Administration, Finance major. She was almost through with her studies as she was in the process of moving back home from her hostel room so that she could be able to relocate to Nairobi where she had secured an internship.
According to her parents who live in Kieyia, Kangeta, Igembe Central, Ann was a hardworking young lady whose main aim was to complete her education. They had no idea about the relationship. The father had even given some money that was meant to facilitate her to move her things back home. After sending her the money the mother tries reaching her but her phone was off. The father, however, asked the mother to be patient and that their daughter neede her time to unwind before going for her internship.
“I left some money with her mother to facilitate the move of her belongings before she was to move to Nairobi,” the father.
“I spoke to Ann on Friday morning and again after sending her money at around 8:30. When I tried to reach her two hours later, however, her phone was off,” the mother said.
When her mother told me, I asked her to be patient since Ann did not have any problems and she was not afraid to ask for help if needed and if we had not heard from her by Monday, we would actively seek her out,”
Their eldest daughter, however, called them at around noon breaking the sad news to them.
“My oldest daughter called us crying at around 12 noon on Monday to break the news that her sister had been found dead in her apartment and that the man who allegedly killed her was also found hanging in the same house,”
