For the first time since they got their tests back, Kenya’s recovered coronavirus patients have spoken out. The two patients updated President Uhuru Kenyatta via a Skype link on their experience.
First Patient, Brenda
Brenda, the first patient believes she contracted the virus in London on her way to Kenya from the United States. She has said that she had read about the Mbagathi isolation centre before getting here so as soon as she experienced Coronavirus symptoms, she went and got tested.
She believes that the virus is manageable as long as Kenyans follow the directives that have been issued by the Government.
“I think I got the virus in London on my way to Nairobi when I came back I stayed for a day and then reported to the Mbagathi Hospital and they took me seriously,” She said.
“I want to tell Kenyans that this virus is manageable and people might have mild symptoms like a cough and a slight headache, so people should not really be afraid, we will pull through,” She added.
Second Patient, Brian
The second patient who has been identified as Brian believes that he got the virus from Brenda.
Brian was taken to the isolation centre immediately the test results for Brenda came back.
He has urged Kenyans to take the virus seriously saying that it is the only way the government can curb its spread.
The two then thanked the government for its swift response in quarantining them and offering medical care to ensure they recovered. They have been in quarantine for 23 days.
The President, as reported earlier by 411Kenya, has thanked the two recovered patient saying that they showed honesty an responsibility by going for tests as soon as they showed a few symptoms.
