KPLC Seeks To Increase Electricity Cost By 20%
Once again, Kenyans are furious!
In this day and era, electricity has become like a basic need. From the moment we wake up, to when we lay back in bed, we are somehow using electricity. For lighting, cooking, showering, working and so many other essential things. Increasing the cost of electricity in Kenya will be a major set back for many people.
Kenya Power had declared that they are seeking to increase the cost of electricity in the country.
They made an application to the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) seeking approval to increase the cost of electricity by 20%.
The application is still being reviewed and they will let us all know when they make the final decision.
The move has angered most Kenyans as it will see us digging in deeper into our pockets just to pay for the same amounts of units
we have expensive, erratic supply and exploited Kenyans ripped off by @KenyaPower ,it defeats the purpose for which it was set up, ie split KPLC into KenGen and Kenya Power to increase efficiency and cost effective power supply. #switchoffkplc pic.twitter.com/LI3NW8tvUZ

We need to reject this madness from @KenyaPower_Care @KenyaPower. It should be shut down completely & let's have a better company supply us with power. How does a monopoly company make losses? You mismanage our resources then you propose another increase. Cost of power too high https://t.co/3UPn0ZQBOt
