As mysterious and disturbing as it may sound, a married woman in Zambia has been found dead inside a catholic priest’s house.
The woman is said to have lied to her husband about where she was going. She then went to see the priest who is alleged to be her lover in his house.
According to Zambia’s media, the priest, Father Abel Mwelwa invited the woman who also happens to be his lover to the parish house on Holy Thursday, May 7, night. Something else to note is that the woman was in the Catholic Women’s league from St Maurice Catholic Church in Lusaka.
According to an official memo issued by the church, the father was immediately suspended. His place as the church priest was terminated as soon as news broke.
“I hereby wish to inform you that I have with immediate effect suspended the Very Rev. Ringford Abel Mwelwa from the priesthood indefinitely. With this suspension he ceases to be Parish Priest for Kaunda Square Parish as well as Judicial Vicar of the Archbishop of Lusaka,” a part of the memo read.
At this time, the autopsy result is not yet out so there is no official cause of death for the lady. However, an undisclosed source close to the diseased said that the priest allegedly injected a substance into the woman’s body as they attempted to terminate a pregnancy.
The priest was however asked by the family of the woman to pay for all burial expenses as police continue investigations.
