Moses Wetangula's Brother Laid To Rest

Tony Waswa who passed away at The Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi on Friday, May 15, was the brother of Senator Moses Wetang’ula and Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi.

“Our party leader’s brother Tony Waswa Wetang’ula passed on last night at Aga Khan Hospital Nairobi. Tony was an aide to Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi,”

He was on Wednesday morning laid to rest in Sirisia, Bungoma in a very small ceremony. Tony Waswa was a people’s person which means that villagers were eager to attend his funeral. However given the coronavirus pandemic, and the directives to avoid public gatherings, all the villagers could do was peep through the fence as the ceremony went on.

At least five priests led the ceremony that went on the early morning of Wednesday, May 20, and lasted for less than an hour as the family observed coronavirus health guidelines.

Also, away from the graveward were four men from the Health Ministry’s rescue tea who were there to ensure that the family was following guidelines issued by the government. They were all covered in white protective gear.
