A section of Ruai residents were left homeless on Friday after the government had a demolition in the middle of the night.
Despite being curfew time, bulldozers invaded and demolished their houses about two hours to midnight. This means that the people were left homeless in the middle of the night past curfew time.
There was uproar online with people castigating the National government for this kind of thing since they took over from the governor, Mike Sonko.
Why should demolitions in #Ruai happen during the night 🤔? Are we still fighting Covid-19 as a country, Where are these people going to settle ? thats inhuman 😢

An eviction at 10:00pm on a Friday, in the middle of a pandemic and during #Curfew hours, effected in blatant violation of a court order, so as to develop infrastructure for a private development belonging to a Politician? Unbelievable. Disgusting. Inhumane! #Ruai#CurfewKenya

Over 60 houses demolished in #Ruai overnight by the government. If @FredMatiangi believes the demolitions are legal, why are they being carried out in the cover of darkness? Why can’t they wait for the Corona pandemic to end? The Kenya government shouldn’t behave like criminals. pic.twitter.com/jSOLk83rW0

Uhuru Kenyatta's Men Are Currently Demolishing Ruai Buildings In Nairobi. The residents had acquired a court order stopping the demolition and served them but they defied and decided to follow the directives of their master Uhuru Kenyatta. #RuaiEvictions pic.twitter.com/FD0OhUBq0K

Other Netizens were regretting the move to dethrone Mike Sonko since they believe that he would have never done something like this to his people.
We are in for a shock, Nairobians will be shocked when they realize that Sonko was never the problem but the cartels who want to control City hall are. pic.twitter.com/VFCEAwGAzo #NMSaCurseOraBlesssing pic.twitter.com/FZ67D481kY
