The skin is the largest body part of our human body. It covers every inch of the body. As much as we take care of our bodies by maybe eating right or hitting the gym, sometimes we forget to take care of the skin. It is a very sensitive part of our body and so it should be handled with care. Skincare is very important since it ensures that the skin glows and also it relieves stress and as a result prevents it from aging.
Learning how to be disciplined when it comes to taking care of your own skin is the hardest part. Every lady has had one of those days when she got home so tired and forgot to remove her makeup. Other times, you get home a little tipsy and you sleep without doing your evening skincare routine.
These tips are simple and good for you especially if you are a makeup lover.
Before we even get to the routine,
- You need to know your skin type, there are three types of skins: oily, dry and normal. Know your skin and get products that suit you.
- Also, always be cautious about what goes on your face.
- Avoid touching your face with your hands since they carry a lot of germs.
- Change your sheets and pillowcase atleast every week.
- Choose hair products that don’t affect your skin. shampoo, conditioners etc.
- Seems unnecessary but, wipe your phone’s screen regularly using wipes to avoid germs on your face while you pick up a call.
- Avoid unnecessary sugars and alcohol.
Here’s is the simple routine,
Remove all the makeup on your face.
If you like your face natural, you don’t have to do anything here. For my make up loving ladies (who usually look really amazing Bytheway), use your wet wipes to totally take off all the makeup on your face. 1 wipe is not usually enough, use at least 3 until it remains clean after wiping your face.
Moisturizing your skin daily
A good moisturizer is one of the key ingredients to flawless skin, but you don’t just choose any random one. As I said earlier, know your skin type and get the moisturizer that suits your skin.
This goes without saying, cleansing your skin is mandatory. Using your cleanser at least twice a day ensures you remove all the sweat, dirt and germs that may have gotten on your face during the day. You do not have to get the most expensive cleanser there is but is you can just go ahead. If not, get yourself a sunlight bar soap, it works perfectly. Use it twice a day with water. After you are finished, use a dry towel to gently massage your face to dry away the water.
I know exfoliating sounds scary and extremely difficult for beginners especially. I got good news for you today, you can exfoliate your face in the comfort of your home using ingredients you already have in your kitchen. Make a mixture of Cinnamon, sugar and lemon juice in a bowl and gently scrub your face with it. It works wonders you won’t even believe it.
Tone your face to match with all the other body parts. Use Apple cider Vinegar and water to tone your skin.
Stay hydrated/drink plenty of water.
This is the most important thing you can do for your skin. Drink at least two litres of water every day and you will see the difference
Remember, all that matters is that your skin is breathing and well hydrated.
