The Kenya Wildlife Service has confirmed that a white rhino has given birth to a bouncing baby boy.

The white rhino gave birth at the Meru national pack.

According to KWS, the rhino identified as Jenifer was translocated from Solio ranch to Meru rhino sanctuary and has since 2006 given birth to six other calves.

“KWS is delighted to report the birth of yet another calf by a white rhino in Meru National Park. The mother, named Jenifer, is believed to have given birth to a bouncing male baby about four days ago,” read a statement shared on their Twitter handle.

Given the danger that this specific species faces, KWS noted that the births of rhinos is a promising thing in regards to the future of the species.

“We are glad the number of the endangered species is growing with several births reported in the recent past,” said KWS.
